Nancy De Leo

Researcher in the History of International Relations at the University of Messina

Nancy De Leo is a Researcher in the History of International Relations at the University of Messina. Her research interests include the EEC’s cooperation policies toward Tunisia during the presidency of Habib Bourguiba, the bilateral relations between Tunisia and Italy in the 1950s and 1960s with particular reference to the Italian communities in the Maghreb country, French foreign policy, and Tunisia’s role in the international arena. She is the author of several essays on EEC–Tunisia relations during the 1970s, the repatriation of the Italian community from Tunisia in the 1960s, and Tunisia’s international role in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2023, she published Choisir l’Europe. Le relazioni tra la Tunisia e la CEE (1969–1987) (Franco Angeli). She is member of the project ”Planning for Food Security in the 1960s: FAO and the Freedom from Hunger Campaign in Africa”.
