Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies

She started her career as a middle school science and mathematics teacher in 1995, her passion for the culinary sector led her to the Institute of Hotel and Catering Services as a tutor. She is currently completing her Doctorate.

She has pursued her studies in the Hospitality and Tourism field globally and has more than 25 years of experience. Her quest for knowledge has made her attend and present papers on various workshops, seminars and conferences on quality improvement, research, training methodology, tourism, hospitality and events management. Currently she is serving the second tenure period as Dean of The Faculty. During her tenure-ship as Dean of the Faculty she created staff exposure and development opportunities to European universities under the EU Labour Project (No. 101007766) and Coordinated the FEMEN Project for MNU-FHTS.

 As an astute believer in working for the betterment of FHTS, she has encouraged her team to curate benchmarked and industry approved courses for the faculty. Additionally, she has strengthened the collaborative and cooperative work with the Ministry of Tourism and the key stakeholders of the Tourism Industry of Maldives. She also has initiated the quality assurance work with world renowned universities of Hospitality like Ecolaire hotel de Lausanne, and Hotel School of the Southern Cross University.
