In November 2019, the PArticipatory Development Knowledge Agency (PAKA) was established after the closure of PADETC. For three decades PADETC was as well as today PAKA is very active in development, contributing to the current policy goal of the Lao government to “Graduate from Least Developed Country Status by 2026”. sThe country is still facing major developmental challenges including the increased risks linked to climate change and global pandemics that affect the whole of society. In this context all development partners, including local civil society organizations must work together more closely than ever. In this limited space for civil society, PAKA is well positioned to enhance the vision and the mission of promoting sustainable development through engaging people in active learning; and to introduce inclusive participation and field-based research practices at different levels and in different contexts.
Key Research Facilities, Infrastructure and Equipment:
PAKA rents an office consisted of five rooms:
One big class room, one meeting room, one village exhibition, 3 rooms for
a).admin & finance, b). program, and c). director. One large terrace can be used for outdoor training activities. Two bath rooms for male and female.
